Is it bad lets say to go to bed at around 2-3 am and then waking up around 12 pm ( which would be 9 hours of sleep), or is someone sleep deprived if they get little sleep period not mattering what time they go to bed, just that they are getting very little or no sleep??? or would it be based on how long you are up in a day as opposed to sleeping?
i read in a prescribing book that there is such a thing as shift work sleep disorder. I’m wondering if it’s true and what they actually prescribe as drugs for it. If anyone has this let me know what your symptoms were and what they put you on. I seriously think i have this.
im so tired! my mom thinks i have a sleep disorder so im getting tested tonight at an overnight sleep clinic and im not supposed to take any naps today. but im sooo tired and i just want to lay down and take a nap. ugh im trying so hard to stay awake…idk if i can do it
My lady tells me she has trouble sleeping with me because I twitch and jump at night as if my muscles have periodic spasms. It was suggested I had restless leg syndrome but I don’t have any of the normal waking symptoms, and the twitching isn’t confined to just my legs. Also i don’t have any pain .Thanks neosoul
That is, if I have bipolar.
See I was diagnosed with Bipolar affective disorder 6 months ago, My psychiatrist of the time took note of my trouble sleeping, tried me on a sleeping tablet. That one didn’t work. Then I was tried on seroquel, which worked, but the drugged effect the next day was too much around end of year trials. so I stopped that. for a little while my sleep went normal, but then, it all went down hill again.
Now, it was really bad. And I got put on seroquel, for hallucinations and sleep. but eventually the next day effect got to me again. I stopped it, but I can’t sleep without it. I’m now on Endep, but if I dont take it, I don’t sleep. Unless I have something in my system, I don’t sleep.
The mental health clinic I was with kept changing doctors and now, They’ve decided that now I’ve stopped my lithium, that if they don’t have that to monitor there is no point in me seeing them. Before They stopped seeing me though, the first doctor in the whole time I’ve been seeing professionals that has questioned my diagnosis. And all because she doesnt know me. And didnt bother to take the time.
So I’m not sure if I have bipolar although it fits. perfectly. But now I dont know if My sleeping is connected to it, or if its a separate disorder which no doctor seems to want to take seriously…
any ideas?
i am 15 years old, and i have had difficulty sleeping for my whole life. even when i am completely exhausted, i am not able to fall asleep for at least an hour, normally longer. when i am asleep, i’m fine and can get a good rest, but when i wake up in the middle of the night, it often takes me another hour or two to fall back asleep. nearly every day i feel tired to the point of nearly falling asleep in class. is this a type of sleeping disorder? is there anything that i can do, besides seeing a doctor and getting medication, to sleep better?
edit: i get a lot of exercise and run 5 to 6 days a week
I havent had over 4 hours of sleep during the night in 3 days and i usually average about 8 hours. what could be causing it?
I need sleeping pills to help me get to sleep and caffeine pills to help me get energy through out the day. For caffeiene pills, are the tablets or the chewables beter? Which brand should I take for both?
The reason I can’t sleep is because my Mom keeps talking on the phone until 2 in the morning keeping me up. Would there be sound proof walls I can buy at a cheap price? I’m 16 so if this isn’t a possibility, what would be the best working medications?
I am talking about a person who does not drink any alcohol, use any drugs (legal or illegal), and who has been this way most of their life? Also they are definitely a "morning person" but cannot focus well after about 8 pm and then start to sound naturally drunk by bedtime. (I know this is a sleep disorder because I found it once and now can’t remember what it was).
I am not talking about sleep deprivation. I’m talking about regular and normal hours of sleep, such as 10-6 or 11-7 every night.
I think it may be part of "Advanced Sleep Phase Syndrome." Anyone heard of this before? (I have Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome, the opposite of what I’m talking about here).
I mean if for example you are a light sleeper and at night when you sleep the slightest sound wakes you up, or if you are a deep sleeper and at night, no matter how loud your alarm clock is, it won’t wake you up… do these affect your sleep, or do any of those two make you sleep deprived?
