Sleep Disorder Treatment. Awareness. Symptoms. Tests. Diagnosis. Causes. Risk Factors.
i have cp, and i noticed that after not sleeping, things like the senses become more intense- especially sound and touch. also spasticity increases. the longer i go without sleep, the worse they become. as a result, sleep is harder to achieve, and it becomes a terrible cycle. is this typical?
how does loss of sleep (either not sleeping or interrupted sleep, like waking up every hour or two) effect you mentally in the long-term?
I typically get 5 to 5.5 hours of sleep a night during a work week, maybe 7 on weekends. Lately, I find it hard to concentrate and my productivity is going down the tubes at work. The lack of sleep is self-imposed; nighttime is the only time I get with my family, and early mornings are all the "me" time I get. Am I doing long-term damage to myself?
Lately, i have only been getting about 5 hours of sleep each night and it has really been adding up. I get sooooo stressed i become almost obsessive-compulsive and grouchy, also i feel all choked up so often (like i want to cry or something).
Please, what would you suggest to help? I am SO FED UP with having to take so many advils and drinking all this diet coke.
I’ve been having trouble sleeping for a very long time now and I always feel like crap because of it. I think I am sleep deprived. Can you tell me what some symptoms of sleep deprivation are?
I though I’d share this article about sleep deprivation in teens. I think it has a good message and it brought back horrible memories of my 7th grade year. It made me stressed out just reading about it! What’s your opinion on the matter?

If it is how long do you have to go without and sleep and why does it happen.
Can you become mad, mentally ill or retarded through lack of sleep as a child? And i don’t mean, just, you know, not sleeping occasionaly, having nightmares or whatever, but having that little bit less than you need each and every night?
I am 22, i work 40 hours a week, and i’m also taking 3 courses this semester. I have about 4-6 hours of asleep every night. Will i be developing any sleeping disorders if i have this much sleep a night. How many hours of sleep should i get for my age? What is healthy?
I am of the understanding that children at age 7 need 10 hours sleep a night. If a child has a late night once a week, say only 7 or 8 hours, what are the effects regarding cognitive ability the following day? I have noticed that the child is irritable, uncooperative, testing and has dark rings under their eyes the following evening. Is this something I should be overly concerned about and what are the long term ramifications if it continues?
